First aid training is mandatory for all companies in Germany. This requirement is based on two interrelated regulations. Section 12 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (ArbSchG) requires every employer to provide their employees with sufficient and appropriate training on safety and health protection, both upon hiring and on a regular basis thereafter. DGUV Regulation 1 (§ 4) specifies the requirements for statutory accident insurance and mandates training at least once a year. Documented first aid training helps you fulfill these obligations in a transparent manner and ensures that your teams respond correctly in an emergency.
